1.2.09 Jazz @ Lakers - QA With-Malice

What? You didn't know there was a Jazz game on tonight? Yeah. DVR's across SLC will be recording it because I think we can all agree that our collective focus will be the the Utes tonight as they take on the juggernaut Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

TBJ did a QA session with With-Malice, a Bloguin Lakers blog. You can read what CB Jack had to say as a preview to tonight's game HERE.

Here are the questions we asked Don @ With-Malice:

TBJ: Every Super Hero has a Kryptonite. Who are the top three teams the
Lakers do not want to face in the Postseason?

WM: 3. Cleveland.  LeBron James is the one player in the league able to do a Kobe (other than Kobe), and beat teams all on his lonesome.
2. Boston.  But that's a tough one, because LA want to play them, and beat them... but they are damn scary.
But #1?  The Spurs... it's an *on* year for them.

TBJ: Let's pretend I have a vote for MVP. We're on an elevator going down
15 floors. Give me a convincing argument why I should vote for Kobe for
MVP.

WM: I'm not entirely sure he is... but here goes: LA have taken where they were last season a step further, and whilst the presence of Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza have had a major impact on that, it's also Kobe Bryant.  Ye ol' black mamba is doing more, by doing less.  He's trusting, and being a leader.  Poignant that an opposition coach named him as the best leader in the league.
And when LA were struggling, who stepped up his impact and carried the team to Ws?  Kobe.

TBJ: Mano to Mano, street fighter style, who wins. Phil Jackson or Jerry
Sloan.

WM: Phil's bigger, but I think you'd need a stake through the heart to kill Jerry Sloan.

TBJ: Who is the Lakers behind-the-scenes MVP?

WM: Trevor Ariza.  People talk about the physicality the Lakers missed last finals, but it was defensive intensity.  Ariza brings that to the floor night in, night out.

Thanks Don.

GO UTES! GO UTES!
