Boozer Out Another Month

In what is probably the second least surprising Jazz story of the year, Boozer will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery.  This puts his return somewhere around Valentine's Day.  Some have wondered if this will affect his decision to opt out of his contract, reasoning that he would want another year to prove his value.  I disagree.  At the very worst, he'll make just barely more than he is now.  He really is a one-of-a-kind player, there are only a handful of guys that will consistently get you 20 and 10.  I know everyone wants to point to Millsap, and they're right, BUT, wouldn't the Jazz be better off with 2 of these types of players?  Don't get me wrong, I am as frustrated as anyone about Boozer's conspicuous absence, but I still think he's worth re-signing.  Collins on the other hand...

Where is ol' "Golf Cart" Collins anyway? Any news on his return? As per Boozer and Millsap. It would be great to keep them both, I just don't think we would ever pay up for both.

I am assuming that Boozer announcing his decission to opt out would be the first least surprising story of the year. This is still kind of fishy to me however; it took three freaking MRI's to find something and then they dont exactly tell us what it is that they found, but only that it requires surgery. And its not like this is major surgery, for now any way, its just an arthroscopic cleaning. Something that I recall lots of other players putting off until the off-season so they can actually help their team. My three year old has a higher pain threshold that Carlos. I would bet my brothers only son that this is not the end of this story.

Mark my words, this arthroscopic surgery will take Boozer at least 3 months to get back from, thats if we see him back on the court at all this year. Keep in mind that he is a world class athlete and that he is getting the very best surgeon, diet regimin and rehabilition. Whereas a sorry hack like me could get the same surgery and be back to new in just 3 weeks while getting by on the dollar menu from McDonalds, my personal traininer on Wii Fit and Dr. Nick Riviera from The Simpsons performing the surgery because that is all my insurance will cover. Point being, until Boozer puts his selfish ass back on the court why even bother? He does not want to be here so why should we care?

I am Boozered out. We all figured something like this was coming. I for one am sick of people saying "look at it from a business perspective". I don't have to. I'm a fan.

I for one am planning on not seeing Boozer in a Jazz uniform again this season. I'm tired of this guy letting down the people paying his mortgage...the fans.

Prepare for a post on this very soon.
