10 Reasons why I HATE the Lakers
Written by CB Jack

Jazz take on the Lakers tonight at the ESA. The Lakers are coming off a win in the OKC. Kobe only played 36 minutes, but Gasol played 42. That should help the Jazz a little bit on in interior side of things. I thought I would take this opportunity to let my fellow Jazz fans know why I hate the Lakers. Please add your reasons to the comments section.

10. 2008 Playoffs <link>

The Lakers beat the Jazz in 6 games with Derek Fisher playing the part of Hero/Villain depending how you see things. I prefer the Villain side. This series was decided by free throws. Booner and I were at Game 6 to witness first hand the downfall of Carlos Boozer. Think what you want, but Boozer disappeared in this series and he made Lamar Odom look like Scottie Pippen. The worst part? The ESA played "Stop and Stare" by OneRepublic the second the game ended. Thanks for ruining a great song Lakers.

9. The Machine

Is there a bigger D-Bag in the entire NBA?

8. Pau Gasol

The players are a big reason I hate the Lakers. While Lakers fans will tell you that Pau was the missing link and he has turned this team from "1st round and out" to "best in the West",  I think he has turned this team from "bearable to watch" to "holy crap I hate this team more than any other professional sports organization in the entire world". Pau and his brother give a new meaning to the phrase Euro Dirty. These guys don't shave, use deodorant, brush their teeth, or wipe. Did I mention he's classy?

7. Lakers Fans

There is no group of people that ruin that NBA like Lakers fans (excluding Chad). After Game 6 of last year, you should have seen how these people acted. I was embarrassed for them. It was disgraceful. Any fan of any other team will tell you the same. They leave troll blogs and leave comments riddled with cuss words and references to body parts I didn't even know I had. Say what you want about Jazz fans, but you wouldn't see anything like this happening in the ESA.

6. Phil

One of the most arrogant personalities in the NBA. This guy gets away with baggin on refs, bagging on opposing cities, bagging on other coaching styles, bagging on gays and yet  the media continues to place him on an iconic pedestal. Truth is, he's still pretty cool.

5. Derek Fisher

derek_fisher_utah_jazz_uni

Don't worry Fish. We will never forget.....your lies.

4. Stealer....of my friend!

I would guess this will go down as one of the biggest backfires in NBA history.

3. Kobe to Utah Jazz fans "You can't stop me"

No kidding Kobe, we're fans...and we're in our seats. Of course we can't stop you. How about you direct your anger towards some helpless young woman in a hotel in Denver....oh wait.

2. KB24

kobe_vs_jazz

Really? Did you expect something else here? Hate him or love him. I prefer to hate. While I will agree that he is a "Living Legend", he is one of the top 5 players of all time, he is amazing to watch, I still hate him. I don't hate Kobe's game*. I hate Kobe's way of being Kobe.

* Kobe, if you're interested in coming to the Jazz, I think that would be a really great idea. We can retract everything we've ever said about you. Just letting you know. Stay cool and call me ;)

1. (You decide Jazz fans. Leave us a comment and tell us why you hate the Lakers)

I want to hear why you hate the Lakers. Let's vent all of our frustrations together and make this a safe place for Jazz fans to express themselves. Not a Jazz fan? No problem, just tell us why you hate the Lakers. So...let the Laker hating begin...

I hate how they GOT Gasol. Memphis put him in a box and put a big bow on top. Imagine if the Jazz got Ilgauskas for Collins and Price.

I don't hate Kobe, I hate what he does to my team.

I hate that the Lakers have Luke Walton, and that when I watch the Lakers play that there is an increased chance of having to see his dad.

I hate how the Lakers fans are so arrogant that their is a competition to see who can get out the doors the fastest, a lot of times when the game is far from over. Its like they are too cool to either hope their team can come back or too cocky to think the other team might actually come back on them. Also, why the H do you usually see like ten dbags in their stands wearing sun glasses? Its probably the dimmest arena in the league, its night, and they look like retarded seven year olds that can't comprehend common sense. Seriously, every time I look at all of those morons, I can't help but think of the episode of South Park when one of the kids moves to San Fransisco and the people are so smug that they all drive Hybrids and smell their own farts.

if you want a real reason to hate the fans, just wait a few hrs when this thread gets jumped on by Laker trolls who will only say things like "you're just crying because we're better" etc. And then they'll refer to some asinine anecdote about how all Jazz fans are Mormon and have 10 wives. If they happen to read this first, I'll be the first to say that I welcome clever jabs at the Jazz, but at least TRY and be funny and original!

CB, the long awaited day of my first comment has arrived.

I may or may not be The Chad mentioned in CB's post. One thing I am, is one of the most down to earth, realistic, and humble Laker fans in Utah (if I do say so myself). I've been a Laker fan for life. 30 years of drama, disappointment, HIV, alleged assault (and the moral dilemma of whether or not to buy my four-year-old son a #24 jersey...wait, he was wearing #8 in 2003...dilemma solved), drama, drama, drama....and, oh yeah, eight championships. I've been in Utah since 1993, and had to deal with some humiliating playoff series' against the Jazz in '97 and '98. They finally got back over the hump while I was serving in a foreign land with Elder CB...then stayed over the hump as I watched them win two more titles from the comfort of my parents' basement with CB by my side. Since then, all disappointment, culminating with: Anything's Possiblllllle! (thanks KG).

I'm a very pessimistic fan. I don't expect the Lakers to win the championship this year. I actually expect them to lose before even getting to the finals. Anything above and beyond that will be a pleasant surprise. I feel like I have a very good pulse on the Lakers, as a realistic, humble, and rather handsome fan. Here is an excerpt of a message sent to CB Jack on Monday:

Lakers will not be as up for the game as the Jazz will. I think they are emotionally spent. You watch, they will struggle on Tuesday night against OKC, then struggle against the Jazz.

OKC took the Lakers deep into the 4th quarter. Lakers played no defense. The Jazz will win tonight by eight points. You heard it here first. Memo will draw Pau out of the paint, allowing all sorts of crazy access to the rim for Brewer and D-Will (and hopefully Harpring so he can hit the underside of the rim). Kobe will try to do too much and will shoot the Lakers out of the game. The ESA is the toughest arena for opposing teams...hands down. I went to Game 4 last year to witness another Lakers loss in the ESA (wish I would have been at Game 6). Much respect for knowledgeable Jazz fans. Though I can't stand Boozer, AK, and Harpring, I've got a ton of respect for D-Will and Millsap.

Parting Thoughts: Lakers want no part of the Jazz in the first round...Would you take Odom for Boozer, straight up?....Is anyone else tired of Brett Favre? I've been watching Sportscenter for 90 minutes waiting to see the Lakers highlights. Nothing but Brett Favre.

glad to see there are some fans that aren't just rabid fanboys. Seems we're both a bit pessimistic about our teams. If the Jazz lose by less than 8, I will consider it a moral victory. Odom has been playing out of his mind lately (didn't see his line for last night though), you really want to get rid of him?
...
written by Bishop Bryant, February 11, 2009
He has been playing well (12 and 18 last night). Don't have a lot of confidence that he'll keep it up. He does this all the time. He'll be decent tonight, then he'll fall back into five games in a row of pedestrian stats, bonehead turnovers, and shooting 30% from the line.
...
written by CB Jack, February 11, 2009
It all depends if he's laying off the hash pipe.

Boozer would flourish in the Triangle. Of course, you already know that. How about Odom and Morrison? ....we always need another white guy. Not to mention we haven't had a stach in a Jazz uniform since Jose Ortiz.

Oh wait:
1. Ronnie Brewer
2. Brevin Knight
3. Paul Millsap
4. Kyle Korver (his looks like my 14 year old nephews)

I hate the Lakers because its the right thing to do. And why the hell not hate the Lakers? Their roster is full of liars (Fisher), druggies (Odom), hippies (Walton), sexual abusers (Kobe), wife cheaters (Kobe again), racists (Pau), backstabbers (Fisher and even Phil for his tell all book destroying Kobe), two-faces (Phil for coming back after the book and acting like it didnt happen), Porn Stars (Morrison) and probably even vampires (Sasha, that dude is just plain creepy). Is there a single likable player on that team at all? Plus they have the worst fans in the league hands down, 90% of them dont even have a clue what color the Lakers jerseys are.

#9 is reason enough for me to hate the Lakers. But while I am here reasons 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 are all good arguments as well. Great post C.B.

P.S. Sasha is a Dux. There is nothing that haunts my mind more than that rat bastard celebrating on our home court after they knocked us out of the playoffs last year. The dude was running around with his shirt off rubbing it in old ladies faces. It was offensive and borderline illegal the way the dude was celebrating. T

10. Wait... wha... ? Worse than Boston? C'mon - they BUY a team and then the lot of them act like it's their destiny to be the champs. Sheesh...
9. That would be Kevin Garnett.
8. In retort, Andrei Kirilenko, Mehmet Okur, Kosta Koufos, Kyrylo Fesenko...
7. Glad that one was tongue-in-cheek!
6. Says the guy with a coach that could only be put down with a stake in the heart...
5. Unbelievable... you guys have Carlos Boozer, and you quibble on Fish's motivation?http://mvn.com/cavalierattitud...later.html
4. Ummmm...
3. & 2. Isn't that the amazing thing? Every fan on the planet would embrace Kobe to their own team... if you say "Uh-uh, not me." Then you're a goddamn liar.

Ha good rant I hate the lakers and the jazz here's my 3 jazz hates:

3. John stockton, yeah perhaps the best PG ever but hes just such a media darling
2. Karl Malone for the fact that the league let that huge truck driving sob break players optical lobes for like 30 years.
1. And I am sure all you jazz fans are with me on this one: the fact that they always make the playoffs but never win a ring

And my #1 lakers hate: even in rebuilding years they are good. This means they have nothing but fair weather fans because the weather is always fair at that cursed staples center. Meaning they have no true fans due to their lack of lean times to test their fan base.

I HATE THE LAKERS because of the following
1. the machine
2. they are the biggest bandwagon team in history
3. laker fans
4. the FSN West laker commentators, they are so annoying, all they talk about is how good the lakers are, but they could be getting blown out and still talk about the lakers. not to mention they are old and senial
5. of course kobe because his name is now a verb as well as a noun.
