I've never met Larry H. Miller. I've never shaken his hand. In fact the closest I came to meeting him, aside from being in the ESA with him, was when he spoke to my middle school 15 years ago. I am just as enthralled by him now as I was then.

Even though I never sat down to have a Coke and solve the worlds problems with him, Larry and I have a lot in common. We share a love of basketball, religion, and community with one another. Larry Miller was an icon in all three. Today's news is heartbreaking to the NBA, the Utah Jazz, and Jazz fans everywhere. Larry employed over 7,000 people in his various businesses. He kept the Jazz in Utah, even when they said it couldn't be done. He was a truly kind and compassionate man as well. He treated members of his community like family, without ever meeting them.

We will miss you Larry. True Blue Jazz and Jazz fans everywhere will carry the Miller family in their hearts and minds during this time.

Thanks Larry for having a dream that became a reality.  A reality that became a passion for thousands of basketball fans in Utah.

"While it's true that this state will never be the same without Miller, the Jazz will live on here because of him. They would not be here without him, that's for sure. Only after he stepped forward in 1985 at huge financial risk to buy half of the team to prevent a sale and move to Miami, and then purchased the remaining half a year later to thwart a move to Minneapolis, did the franchise ever become stable in Utah." -Kurt Kragthorpe

As a basketball fan and a person who lives in another NBA city that gets to watch every day how owners can ruin teams and a fan base, I thank you Larry for being a class act and a leader who many owners should take a lesson from.

Great words C.B. Could not have said it better myself. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Miller family. His Legacy will live on. It is great to know two of his last Jazz moments were victories over Boston and L.A.

You guys know I really like Larry Miller. He was the class of NBA owners. As a Rockets fan, it takes a lot for me to feel that way about the man. I'm sure his family is well taken care of, and as a man, that's a nice thing to have when you leave this earth. This is the first, and last time, I will ever cheer for a Jazz victory, go out there and kick some butt Jazz
