3.17.09 Pre-Game Power Rankings

Are there any Jazz players that are Irish?  Unless Matt Harpring has some unknown anscestor we might have to rely on skill alone tonight against the Wizards, and truthfully that might be enough.  I missed the 3-game collapse while I was in Vegas, but I have read the recaps and fans' takes and I followed the end (all 3 of them) of the Miami game while at the In 'n Out in Vegas (side note: In 'n Out is good, but seriously people, they're just burgers, there should never be a 20 min wait to get one).  It sounds like we were 4 or 5 bad plays/calls from going 4-1 on this trip, because let's be honest, we weren't going to win in Orlando.  The last time the Wizards came to town, the Jazz beat them like rented mules.  In fact, CJ Miles had a career high 29, THAT'S how bad the Wizards were.  The Wiz took care of business, though, in Washington earlier this year and made the Jazz look old, tired, and completely lacking of any athleticism.  I was impressed by JaVale McGee (is HE Irish?) the first time around, he's an atheletic big man which the Jazz may have in Kofous if he could get some GD playing time.  Utah is a 14.5 favorite and I really am not sure who to take, so this is a coin flip.....Jazz 110-94.

On a side note, I was thinking about the rotations and how is it possible that CJ hasn't been replaced by Korver, Knight by Price, and Collins by any warm body (particularly Kofous)?  I know Sloan is hesitant to mix up the lineup, but C'MON!  CJ is at best a 10 ppg player and Korvs has had a couple 20-point games in the last month, plus he's a better rebounder (can't believe I just typed that).  Kight has ZERO offense and Collins is...well Collins.

What's the matter, boys? Utah came back down to earth and your bullshit stopped surfacing on The Nugg Doctor!

Figures though...

Jazz fans are a fickle bunch of losers who love to pile on the bandwagon, but as soon as you guys start winning again I'm sure I'll see you back lurking around my parts again.

Apparently your BS never stops though. You can call us a lot of things but bandwagon isn't one of them. Even if the Jazz won 25 games this year ESA would be sold out every night. I can't say the same for you guys though...you have had plenty of 25 win seasons, so there is a lot of historical data to back me up.

I was just visiting my friends over at www.bustabucket.com and I noticed that there was another beat reporter in our midst. He was telling me that Jazz fans were not very clever. I disagreed and told him that Jazz fans were clever they just weren't funny. No sir, they're not very funny at all.

Agree to disagree I suppose smilies/smiley.gif

Since when was this a competition to see who's fans are the funniest?

Ironically enough, the Nuggets when a few games and your bullshit is back. That's odd. Oh well, at least you aren't a Blazer fan.

That's right, it's a competition to see which team is better. Looks like we win that one too!

Better in that your team has done what again noteworthy/of worth?

Your right you guys are way funnier than us. Your smarter too. Plus you get more chicks, make more money, and your better at video games. Plus your dad could totally beat up my dad in a fight. Sigh...if only I was a Blazers fan.

Better record? Tougher schedule with more quality wins? Stop me when I'm wrong...

Isn't this the same thing that you are decrying? And since when did the blogging become more about the fans than the teams?

D-Will had a nice game last night, only 8 turnovers for him. If he can keep up that production than we have a pretty good shot at hanging on to that #7 or #8 spot in the west.

Tougher schedule with more quality wins?

Do we not play the same teams? Keep going, that's fine. I mean, you have an enormous 1/2 game lead on us so please, continue to rub it in if it makes you feel good.

The Jazz have the second easiest Strength of Schedule (SOS) in the league. Denver has had one of the toughest and Portland is in the middle of the pack.

We do play the same teams, but we obviously don't play them in the same order. The quality of the win comes from beating a superior opponent. Thus far, Portland has played a tougher schedule and has more quality wins.

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Hopefully one game in the next six days doesn't make you guys rusty. I'm sure those Phoenix and Houston games are looming pretty large...

In case you were wondering, when Portland went through Florida, they won both games. Just saying...
