CB Jack:  OMG, can u believe how good CJ Miles is playing tonight?
Hammy: Yeah, I always knew he had it in him.  All that hard work he has put in while he was skipping the Rocky Mountain Review is finally starting to pay off.
CB Jack: Dude, I know.  I was so happy when they matched his contract offer from the Sonics.  He has some serious all-star potential.
Hammy: Yeah, I bet that he makes the all-star team next year and then the 2012 olympic team.
CB Jack:  For sure.  It's like I always said, his skills are a mix between Kobe, Ray Allen and Iverson.  Dude is going to be GREAT!!!  This is a private chat right?
Hammy:  Oh yeah, it will never get it out.

Seriously CJ, good game last night.  But remember even Jason Shart can score 21 points in a game, let's see some consistency for a few games and you might win over a couple True Blue Jazz fans.

I can't stand the Jekyl and Hyde performance of this team from playing at home vs. on the road.  Where was that energy against the Bobcats?  Where was that execution against the Wizards?  Where was that defensive effort against the Knicks?  This team will never win a championship, yet alone get to the finals unless they start to find that same passion and effort on the road as they have at home.

I have a question for Shaq from AK and Millsap. "Tell me Mr. O'Neal, how do you like stuffing?  I have three servings of it right here for you."  I was jumping up and down screaming when Millsap stood up to Shaq and rejected him, the look on Shaq's face was priceless.  It was like, "What the hell, who are you?  I am Shaquile effing O'neal, you can't block my shot at the rim!"

With exception of D-Will I dont care who we have to let go from this team to make room for Milsap, The Jazz absolutely have to re-sign this guy.  His effort and passion to play the game are too valuable to not have on the team.  Still waiting to see how good we are at full strength, maybe we will get to on Wednesday.

Hammy, I am adding the below videos. Hope you don't mind.

I'm with you Hammy. As excited as I was about that victory I was equally ticked that they can't play that way on the road. Yes, the crowd helps get you motivated but they are not out there hitting shots....with the exception of that one time CB and I were walking under the tunnel back to our seats when Nash dribbled past me...brushed C.B., nachos down and I followed it with a steal and hit C.B. on the baseline for an 18 "J". However, that didn't count and was immediately followed by a billy club to the back of the skull, cold handcuffs and an aggressive frisking....which I swear C.B. enjoyed.
Back to my point. The Jazz will not win a championship with their half-assed effort on the road. It's not just the players, it's the coaches too. They need to figure out how to get these guys prepared for the road.
Great win though. I will give them that. And Dear Terry Porter, please, please take Shaq out of the game. How bad do you want the guy to humiliate himself before you take him out? Good night. I was waiting for Brevin Knight to block him out of the building. Go Jazz.

P.S. If I here the word "Drinkability" one more time........

Check out the boxscore(http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/bo...2008111726) on this game. Some of the most interesting +/- stats I've seen in a while.

SUNS
Shaq: -29
Next lowest Suns Starter: -8

JAZZ
Best starter (Collins): +6
Benchies: +10,+14,+15,+18,+19,-10

What does this all mean??

In short, Shaq had one of the worst +/- scores I've ever seen (anyone know where you can get a full listing of them, game-by-game?) and the Jazz bench by far outperformed the starters -- despite Miles' and Boozer's remarkable performances. My guess is that this happened as the benchies all got on in garbage time and were able to do some stat padding. But that much? Those are game-changing +/- numbers...

Your thoughts?

To be fair, the REAL reason the Jazz were able to rebound from their losses was getting AK-47 back - he was awesome as he has been all year. If he had played at charlotte and finished in Washington, they would have won those games. Let's remember why we were so excited about this team at the beginning of the year: this team is spectacular when they're all together. Once everyone is back and healthy, there's very little opposing teams will be able to do. Unfortunately, we just have to be patient.

Unfortunately, we just have to be patient.
....and unfortunately, I have no patience so you will hear me over react all year....(just ask C.B. Jack, Hammy, Scrum, Pick-N-Roll, my wife, my mom, your mom, my kids and my co-workers.) Bare with me as I ride this roller coaster that is the Utah Jazz.. Thanks for the reassurance and the comments though. Much needed. Go Jazz.

Wow Hammy. Talk about throwing me under the bus. I will admit that CJ played well last night. Here is my beef, when he hits two shots in a row, you can bet the farm that he will be throwing up shots the next three times he gets the ball. It's like he is playing NBA Jam and thinks he's "on fire". Easy there CJ. Don't get too gathered up.

That was a really fun game to watch. The Suns killed themselves in the 2nd quarter. Too many fouls which dictated the rest of the game for them.

Shaq got owned. That was nothing short of an amazing performance from Millsap. I agree with Hammy that we MUST keep him in a Jazz uniform. AK has been the most pleasant surprise this season. He was shooting the ball great, and did you see him outrun the entire Suns team for the easy layup from Knight? That was vintage AK.

I really feel like there is some serious potential once we get our General back on the floor. AK coming off the bench may prove to be one of Jerry Sloan's greatest moves as a coach.

Great win for the Jazz.

But just to keep things honest: The Suns were coming off of a back-to-back. That has to account for something. Perhaps that is why they looked like they didn't want to play the last 4 minutes. Damn Back-to-backs. The NBA needs to get rid of them.

Oh, don't worry about the back to backs C.B. They more than make up for them during the playoffs when each series takes three months.

The Jazz can win on the road - I believe it. Once everyone is back, I believe they will regain their focus. I really think they still remember how bad they were last year. This road trip was a freak accident of monumental proportions - next 5 game roadie, they go 4-1 and they'll be .500 (if they have their starting 5 or at least 4 of 5... or even 3 of 5. lol so sad.)

Don't get all worked up over one game. Here is his season stats:

G 11
GS 11
MPG 17.6
FG% 0.474
3p% 0.375
FT% 0.643
OFF 0.8
DEF 1.3
RPG 2.1
APG 1.6
SPG 0.3
BPG 0
TO 0.36
PF 2.5
PPG 8.2

Like I said. Don't get carried away. I'm guessing he'll be right around 10.8 pts, 3.5 rbs, 2.1 apg come seasons end.

You want the over or under John?

Keep in mind all of those stats have doubled in the last two games.

He's shooting at about where he was last year. I expect that to go up a bit. He's actually our best guard right now shooting-wise. And his per 36 are looking good. If he ends up with the stats you have listed above, I'd be happy. I don't think anyone would be calling for his head with those.

That said, I think I'll take the under on each of those. They'll be close to that, but I don't think he gets enough touches once everyone's back to get the points. The rebounds and assists are pretty close. He might get there over the course of the season, but I don't think he sustains those. He could get the assists though with more PT.

If CJ ends with numbers around these, we'll be in good shape.

Can someone tell me though why he sucks so bad at free throws?
...
written by Hammy, November 19, 2008
Is it just free throws that he sucks at? I thought it was more of everything. In all seriousness though, you have to blame the bad free throw shooting on a mental lapse. His form and stroke are plently good, he just does not focus on it all the time.
