The D-Will Effect

You should have stayed in school longer sucka!!

First things first, Memphis is bad.  Really bad.  OJ Mayo already looks like a malcontent in the Carmelo Anthony mold, Rudy Gay is nice player, Marc is big boy, but its in a Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum type of way.  The rest of that team is not very good, so to say that this was a statement win would be a little too much.  What it was however is a very succesful return for D-Will and hopefully the start of a serious string of W's for the Jazz.  I am looking forward to seeing this team slowly build momentum over the next few weeks as they get everyone healthy and back in synch.

So who benefits more from Deron's return?  Milsap?  Brewer? Miles?  Okur? I say its Ronnie Brewer as we finally saw a few of his baseline dunks that have been missing from his game all year.  We should see his shooting % get back up 50% shortly with Deron back directing traffic.  His court vision was spot on tonight, his shot was solid and he looked about 80% of his old self.  Slowly the rest will come back and then look out.

I have one lingering question for a few teams now that D-Will is coming back.  For Houston, New Orleans, Portland and yes even L.A., are you a little bit scared that the Jazz are 10-6 without having D-Will, Boozer and Okur on the court together for one game yet?  We finally got to see an offensive expolsion that is more in line with the what this team will be capable of and the defensive effort is improving.  The Jazz are sitting a solid 3rd in the west and are getting some valuable reps for players that are going to be needed later on in the year.  This could be the start of a big run from the Jazz.

This was a great win for the jazz. I was amazed at deron and his passing skills. Can't wait for the jazz to be back a full strength.

I'm really impressed that you guys went 9-6 without him (and Boozer towards the end). Job well done

Our schedule made it a bit easier, Clippers twice, Thunder, Bucks, and Memphis, but we still beat Phoenix, Portland, and Denver. Technically we didn't go 9-6 w/o him, we went 8-5, he played against Philly and Washington (1-1). Even still, to be over .500 without him was a gift.
