There was a Jazz Game Tonight?

If you're like me, you didn't turn on the Jazz game until late in the 3rd quarter.  After the Utes took the ball from Max Hall for the 13th time, it was time to see how the Jazz were doing in the Music City.  I'm not gonna lie, I was surprised to see the Jazz up about 10.  What was MORE surprising was the defense they were playing.  At last count there were 15 steals and The Grizzles failed to score for the first 4 minutes or so of the 4th quarter.  Looks like Memo found his touch as well after hitting 4 of 5 threes and finishing with 23 points.

other box score highlights:

AK had 9 points on 5 shots and had 10 assists, 4 steals and 6 rebounds.  Almond had 11 points in only 14 minutes.  Brewer had 21 points and shot 10-12 inside the three point line.  Jazz were outrebounded but shot 54.7% for the game.

Wish I had more to say but I think we were all watching the other game.  Final score, 103-94.  Up next, Derrick Rose on Monday, public enemy #1.

Be sure to check out the Grizzles blog at 3 Shades of Blue.

There was only one game on my mind yesterday Scrum and to be honest, I had not idea the Jazz were even playing until I got in the car after the Utes game and stumbled across Hot Rod on 1320. Having the Jazz win on top of everything else last night gave me the same feeling I get when I find a surprise $10 bill in my pocket. Nice road win Jazz. You now have my undivided attention...at least until January 1st, 2nd or 3rd! Go Jazz, Go Utes! Thanks for reminding everyone about the game Scrum.

I actually Tivoed the game and then watched it late into the night after the Utes won and all I have to say is this. WHAT THE HELL JAZZ? You were trapping and reaching and playing crazy man defense all game. Where did that come from and more importantly, why has it not been there all year? Someone finally woke up Jerry on the bench becuase he was coaching his ass off like it was the state high school final and his players responded. I hope that we can get 75% of that effort the rest of the year.

Austin Collie was a beast, goodthing Max couldn't get him the ball...Turned the Jazz game on and it was nice to see O.J. Mayo shoot every other time down the court. Ron Ron continued to play like a manwhore, and even know it was the Grizz a win is a win...Nice job Utes but a better win for our Jazzsmilies/smiley.gif
