Mid-Week Power Rankings

After a 2 week hiatus, the power rankings are BACK!  The Jazz have been playing lights-out for the last 2 weeks having won 6 of 7 and, more importantly, FINALLY winning in San Antonio.  They are about to wrap up a 6 game homestand on Friday against the Pacers (6-9).  The lone "L" was at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team that is fast becoming the Jazz's kryptonite.  Over the past 3 games, the Jazz have shot 61%, 61%, and 58% while only allowing 90 points per game.  THIS is the team that we thought we had last year (which is the same team we have this year, + Maynor & Mantooth).  However, having looked at the schedule, we had better enjoy this while we can.  Next week the Jazz are at the Lakers, home vs the Magic, then home vs the Lakers.  It is not unreasonable to think the Jazz go 0-3 there.  BUT...should the Jazz win at least 2 of those games, I think it's safe to say they are a top 6 team.

Now for the 800 lb gorilla in the room...

BOOZER HAS BEEN PLAYING OUT OF HIS MIND!  This is the guy we expected to have for the last 5 seasons, over the last 4 games he has been scoring (26 ppg) rebounding (10.5 rpg) getting assists (5.5 apg) DEFENDING (7 stl, 5 blk) and shooting the lights out (72.8% fg & 85.7% ft).  He has been a beast, and the Jazz are playing the best they have all season.  We all know that he is only playing for a contract but I don't care.  If he continues to play like this the Jazz will be serious contenders for a top 3 seed.  Mark my words, we will have our revenge!
