Slowly Gaining Interest

I'll be honest, I have had little to no interest in our Jazz this off-season. (Hence my lack of participation on TBJ all summer.) Yes, I know, I know, I am always so negative. But really, the Jazz have done nothing as an organization to get me excited about the upcoming season. We at TBJ have voiced our frustration all summer long, regarding the small amount of effort the organization has done to better themselves. As a fan, you hate seeing the teams around you rebuild and/or add to, while your team sits back and does virtually nothing. When the biggest question in Jazz camp this off-season is whether or not Matt Harpring is going to retire, you know there truly is nothing going on. I've literally been lulled to sleep by this off-season.

That was until I saw this:

Leave it to the Jazz Bear to remind me how much I love being a fan of the Jazz. At least there is one person in the organization trying to light a fire underneath all of us....or at least me.

This video led me to tune into Thursday's pre-season game vs. Portland. I'll admit, it's just not the same without Hot Rod, however, it was Jazz basketball. Listening to Locke call the game led to me feeling the wide variety of emotions that come from being a Jazz fan. The excitement of D-Will breaking down defenses, to the frustrations and anger of missed layups and bad defense. All of which I am excited to feel all over again.

With opening day just 13 days away it's time for C.B. to dust off his purple Utah Jazz leather jacket. For Hammy to bust out his John Stockton game shorts, (which I might add are sweet, yet awkward when sharing a couch during the game.) It's that time of year where Big Name Attorney's (Scrum) put away boring law books and court cases and focus all their energy on the Jazz. It's also time for me to write the one somewhat positive article I will write all year and then prepare to thrown the team under the bus the rest of the year! It's Jazz season fans and TBJ is excited to cover all the drama... or lack thereof.

CB Jack UPDATE: Sorry Booner. I had to add this to your post. Saw this ad and I couldn't help but put it up here...

Man I love your website, but some of the things you add to this amazing website gets me thinking..How can you say the Jazz have done nothing to improve the team? They are keeping a line up that has been together for a long time...that's one of the greatest things to do for a team built around solid players (D-will, Okur, and sadly Boozer). Keeping a team together is far better than going out and getting superstars. And re-signing Ronnie Price and Okur are both good ideas in my mind...
Keep up the good work and try to be positive about our jazz
